Warnock told Croydon Today: "We have spoken to Strasbourg and we are going to see what develops.

"We have to make a move sooner rather than later and we are discussing that at the moment," he added.

The Egyptian was, as EP reported, on trial at the club, but has not returned to France awaiting further news.

"I was impressed by him," admitted Warnock.
