Abo Mosallam Continues Trial & Awaits Warnock Decision

Date: 18-1-2008
Wrote: EP's reporter Ahmad Matar

As EP had reported, Ahmed Abou-Mosallam was tracked by English club Crystal Palace for a possible move in January and has been training with the club. He is waiting for a potential offer, he revealed.

Abou-Mosallam said: "I have trained twice with the Championship side and played a friendly on Tuesday night.

"I will be informed whether I will be offered a contract at the end of the week," he added.

The left-back admitted that he has interest from back home but wants to stay in Europe: "Late in 2007 I had offers from Egyptian League sides but I prefer to play European football."

Crystal Palace are fighting for promotion and stand a decent chance of doing so. Abou-Mosallam has not been included by Egypt in the African Cup of Nations squad and more importantly, is not getting playing time with Ligue 1's Strasbourg.
