Strasbourg lost two key players after their relegation
and others are on the way to leave the club. However,
the future of Hosni Abd Rabo and Ahmed Abo Mosallam
is yet to be decided.
The club lost their top scorer and arguably their best
player, the Ivorian Amara Diane who signed for Paris
Saint Germain a few days ago. As well as this, the Swede
midfielder Alexander Farnerud also left the club and
signed for Bundesliga side Stuttgart.
The negative effects of relegation will continue and
more key players are expected to leave making the stay
of the Egyptians Abo Mosallam and Abd Rabo at the club
unlikely to happen.
Rumours started to circulate and to link the Egyptians,
who are currently in vacation in Egypt, to a return
to their former Egyptians club or to Ahly (in the case
of Abd Rabo), however both players didn't exclude the
option of staying in Europe and moving to another French
club.
It should be noted that Strasbourg appointed the French legend
Jean Pierre-Papin as their new manager in order to help the
club to get back to Ligue 1. However, the job seems to be
a difficult one.
