Despite the good display in the first half, Strasbourg were extremely unlucky not to score in the 45 minutes. They got many chances but Sochaux' goalkeeper managed to keep his net clean. In the 2nd half, the homeside looked more dangerous and Strasbourg couldn't create many chances. They even managed to take the lead via Ilan who scored from a powerful strike in the 78th minute.

Just four minutes before the final whsitle, Strasbourg scored from a powerful shot by Farnerud who hit the ball from outside the box to hit the hand of the goalkeeper and fall into the back of the net.

In the final minutes, Strasbourg tried to score the winner but it was already late and the game ended in a draw.

It should be noted that only Hosni Abd Rabboh played the game while Abo Mosallam watched the action from the subs bench.

Hosni did well throught the game and had a close chance to score from a powerful shot but his shot went over the bar.

With this result and Troyes' 3-0 win over Ajaccio, relegation became reality for Strasbourg who are still behind Troyes by seven points and both sides have only three more matches in the competition.
