Strasbourg failed to advance to the next stage in Europe's 2nd competition as they drew 2-2 at home with Basel. The first leg match ended in a 2-0 win for the Swiss side and Abo Mosallam & Abd Rabo's club needed a 3-0 win in order to go to the next round.

Abo Mosallam played full match, Hosni didn't play

Strasbourg entered the match in already difficult situation as they had to overcome Basel by three goals to nil in order to advance to the next round. In addition to this, things got even worse for the homeside as they conceded an early goal after three minutes from the kick off through Eduardo.

Despite the early goal, Strasbourg managed to come back quickly into the game through Carlier who scored in the 11th minute. However, Eduardo scored another goal for Basel in the 26th minute and the first half ended in a 1-2 lead for the guests.

In the 2nd half, Kanté scored for Strasbourg in the 78th minute to end the game in a 2-2 draw (4-2 on aggregate for FC Basel).
