Despite being the better side throughout the game, Hosni Abd Rabboh and his teammates at Strasbourg failed to end their game against Marseille to their favor and lost by a single goal which came through a counter attack in the 60th minute. Hosni played from the start but left the pitch in the 79th minute because of slight injury.

Hosni's Strasbourg failed to win any points from their home match against Olympic Marseille. Strasbourg were the better side but they lacked much in the final touch. On the other side, OM used their chances well and scored from one of the few chances that they got.

The first chance in the game was for Strasbourg which came through a weak header that reached the team captain Guillaume Lacour who had only Fabien Barthez to beat. However, Lacour's shot was denied by the foot of the post and the real chance went begging.

OM replied with a shot from inside the box but Strasbourg's goalkeeper made a comfortable save.

In the 33rd minute of the game, Hosni started an attack for Strasbourg, he passed the ball on the floor to Diane and the latter sent a through pass to the onside Gmamdia who fired a low shot at goal but Barthez managed to parry it away.

Minutes later, a Marseille defender almost scored an own goal when the ball hit him after a cross from the right wing, the ball almost went in but Barthez was alert and collected it safely.

In the opening minutes of the 2nd half, Marseille applied some pressure on Strasbourg's defense and they had a chance through a powerful shot but it was saved after a 2nd attempt by Strasbourg's goalkeeper Nicolas Puydebois.

Despite the early pressure from OM, Strasbourg also had their moments as their striker Diane headed the ball just over from close range in the 50th minute.

Gradually with time, Strasbourg started to control the midfield area once more and Hosni Abd Rabboh had an effort on goal. The ball fell to the Egyptian at the edge of the box and he tried a volley shot at goal but it went narrowly wide.

Two minutes later, particularly in the 60th minute, OM's striker Mamadou Niang managed to break the offside trap and advanced on the keeper after receiving a fine through pass, he placed the ball into the bottom corner to give OM the lead against the run of play.

In the 68th minute Niang was about to add his 2nd goal for OM when he advanced on the keeper behind the defense and played the ball low but the goalkeeper managed to save the ball for a corner.

In the 78th minute, a counter attack started for OM and Hosni made a sprint to assist in defense, the Egyptian tried to make a tackle but fell onto the ground and hold his leg. The Egyptian went to the sidelines to receive medical treatment but he couldn't carry on and had to be replaced by Faty in the 79th minute.

Hosni couldn't continue because of injury

After Hosni's exit, Strasbourg couldn't create many chances as OM defended their lead well. However, a real chance came in the stoppage time from a one on one situation with the keeper but Barthez managed to save it and the score remained 0-1 for OM till the final whistle.
