'Impressive' Strasbourg Continue Poor Results!

In the 11th match-day of the French championship Hosni and his partners lost yet again, 0-1 against Rennes, at home, to continue their awful league form.

It is becoming more and more usual for Strasbourg to lose despite playing a good game!

Before this game Strasbourg were 19th and Rennes 17th, showing how an important match this was for the bottom part of the table. Unfortunately, after this match Strasbourg are still in the relegation zone.

In the 30th minute, Cassard, the goalkeeper, who was one of the best players since the beginning of the season, left the goal and poorly distributed the ball. The young French international Jimmy Briand hit a beautiful lob from 30 metres. It was a big mistake from Cassard but he there was no way he was going to stay perfect for the whole of the season. 0-1 to Rennes.

Strasbourg reacted with some attacks. In the 43rd minute after a corner was pushed back by Rennes keeper Isaksson, the Egyptian Hosni Abd Rabo hit a great shot but unfortunately Rennes defender Mbia stopped the ball on the line! It was a beautiful shot from Hosni but he was unlucky.

Strasbourg didn’t succeed in equalising despite four or five dangerous attacks. And it was perhaps even more frustrating that Rennes had only had one chance in the whole match!

Hosni was one of the best players for Strasbourg and he played the full game. Since his come-back, he has played very well in every match, but his team and him are always waiting for some luck which will bring them success.

Strasbourg are currently 19th with 6 points and at the top of the relegation zone are Troyes with 10 points. This season is totally different from last season where Strasbourg played for the European places. They have now got to play in order to remain in Ligue 1.

The rest of the season is definitely going to be difficult. But fans have the next match to look forward to - a tough test in the UEFA Cup away to Swiss giants Basel.

Hosni will certainly be in the team. In spite of the bad result of his team, he is regular in his services. He really fights for his club and he will do everything to recover his team from this poor start to the French season.
