Strasbourg drew this afternoon 1-1 against
RC Lens, after a match of quite a good level where Hosnys
partners deserved to win.

Hosny did not play this game because of his sending
off against Paris SG. Despite being booked twice in
the game, both tackles were reckless and so the ban
was extended to three games.
The beginning of the match was at the advantage of
Strasbourg, in particular thanks to Pagis.
Strasbourg continued to attack without success, and
it was Lens that benefited from the wastes of Jacky
Dugueperroux's team, thanks to a goal from Ivory Coast
star Aruna Dindane after a defensive error. Aruna scored
with his head in the 42nd minute.
Just before the half-time whistle, Diarra of Lens was
dismissed after receiving two yellow cards.
Strasbourg tried to benefit from the numerical superiority
with hard work in the middle of the park via the captain
Ulrich Le Pen.

In the 62nd minute, the efforts of Hosnys team were rewarded
with a goal from the head of Mickael Pagis after a cross by
Boka.
By the end of the match only one team looked to be on the
pitch playing. Strasbourg continued to press and press, and
in the 75th minute, Arrache missed the ball of the match where
he was alone with Diané in front of the unfavourable
goalkeeper. It was the perfect chance but somehow there was
no goal.
In the last 15 minutes, Lens work hard in the defence to
conserve this score, and so the final result was 1-1.
Strasbourg have once more produced a good game but they missed
out on a win which they deserved throughout the match, due
to their attackers, in particular Arrache.
Strasbourg are currently in 19th. The next match is against
Ac Ajaccio and a victory is a requirement.
