Two Ferocious Tackles Send Hosny Off!

Date: 11-9-2005
Wrote by: EP's reporter in France Samy Shoker

Strasbourg lost as they had to resume their away game against Paris S.G. with ten men starting from the 64th minute as Egyptian midfielder Hosny Abd Rabo was sent off.

Hosny’s Strasbourg lost 1-0 against the great PSG.

Hosny will remember his first experience in Paris. He was dismissed after receiving two yellow cards in this match of a great physical intensity. Seven yellow cards and the single red card were distributed by the match official. It was a poor match with few actions at either goal.

In the 25th minute, Hosny received the first yellow card after an aggressive tackle on the French international Jerome Rothen, who had to leave the ground. He has since been announced as seriously injured.

In the 28th minute, the Ivory Coast international Bonaventure Kalou rebounded a saved shot from Pauleta and scored with a well hit strike.

Strasbourg tried to reply with a dangerous free kick from 20 metres out, but Boka completely missed the target.

In the 65th minute, Hosny repeated his first moment with a second severe foul on the French international Vikash Dhorasoo, and so received a second yellow card and was excluded from the game.

Then, it was too difficult for Strasbourg, and they had to defend during the end of the match without being able to equalise.

Strasbourg have scored just once in six matches. They are currently 18th with 3 points, but they have had a very difficult start to their calendar. The Paris opponents are now 2nd.

The next match for Strasbourg is against Graz AK in the UEFA Cup.
