Abd-Rabboh to EP: "Looking for Strasbourg Move"

Date: 1-6-2005
Wrote: EP's reporter Ibrahim Azab

EXCLUSIVE: Ismaili's international defensive midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabboh was has been linked with moves to France and Russia recently, to Strasbourg and CSKA Moscow to be precise. The French outfit apparently showed serious interest in the youngster, while the UEFA Cup champions' interest was ambiguous.

EgyptianPlayers.com asked Abd-Rabboh about the European interest. "CSKA Moscow wanted me to trial with them for a week," he confirmed.

"But Strasbourg sent an official offer to my club by fax, and there is a big likelihood that they will make a positive decision soon inshallah (God willing)."

When asked about the financial terms of the contract, he replied, "They offered €1 million to the club. As for me, my contract details will be known after the offer is sorted."

Abd-Rabboh also told EP about the latest with regard to the national team's preparation. Egypt will meet Sudan in June for a World Cup Qualifier. "We played a good match against Kuwait. It was a good preparation for the Sudan game, and inshallah (God willing) the Sudan game will be a good preparation one for the Ivory Coast meeting!"
